THE NMA QUALITY GUIDE

Raw vs Virgin Hair: Choose Your NMA Quality

Raw or Virgin? Start with the material selection, then compare the product that fits your next look.

The short answer

At NMA Hair, Raw is our higher-tier collection, made with braid-collected hair material. Our Virgin collection uses directionally aligned hair material. These are NMA’s collection descriptions, rather than universal industry grades.

SIDE BY SIDE

Two collections. A clearer choice.

Our material selection is the starting point. The texture, lengths and specifications of the product you choose still matter.

LOOK CLOSER

Compare the hair, not just the label.

  1. Match the product. Compare the same texture and lengths across both collections.
  2. Check the details. Review the listed weight, colour, available options and what is included in the package.
  3. Ask for current close-ups. Look at the weft, mid-lengths and ends under comparable lighting. For wash comparisons, ask how each sample was washed and dried.
  4. Discuss your styling plans. Tell us if you plan to colour, bleach or frequently heat-style the hair, so we can confirm the product details before you order.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your questions, answered.

What is the difference between NMA Raw and Virgin hair?

At NMA Hair, Raw is our higher-tier collection and uses braid-collected hair material. Our Virgin collection uses directionally aligned hair material. These names describe our own material selections; compare the specifications of the actual product before ordering.

Does Raw automatically mean single-donor or completely unprocessed hair?

The collection name alone does not establish donor count or processing history. Ask us for the specifications of the exact product if these details matter to your purchase.

Can I dye or bleach either collection?

Please confirm the suitability of your chosen product with us before colouring or bleaching. A Raw or Virgin label alone is not a guarantee of a particular colour result.

Which collection should I choose?

Start with your preferred texture, lengths, styling plans and budget. Choose Raw if our higher-tier braid-collected selection is your priority. Consider Virgin if our aligned-hair collection fits the product and price you are looking for.

How should I compare prices?

Compare the same texture, lengths and package contents. Check whether the price is for bundles only or includes a closure or frontal; different lace sizes and additional texture charges can change the total.

Where do NMA Hair orders ship from?

NMA Hair is a US-registered business, and orders ship from China. Check our shipping and return policies for the details applicable to your order.
